In Belgium the scale and threat of climate change has led to both the Federal and Regional Governments striving to organise a joint response. A revised National Climate Change Plan was adopted in 2009 to take immediate action and the Minster for Climate Change, Paul Magnette, spoke in January to the Belgian council of Ministers on his vision '[for]…the National Climate Plan [to] open the way for a real climate law.'
